Navigating Loss and Life’s Challenges: Support That Helps You Find Your Way Forward

What would your life feel like if the weight you’re carrying began to ease, even just a little?

If you’re facing a loss, whether through bereavement, a relationship ending, a health change, or another shift you didn’t choose, you may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. You might be holding it together on the outside, while inside it feels much harder.

Imagine having a space where you don’t have to explain yourself, hold back, or be the strong one. A space where you can begin to make sense of what you’re feeling, at your own pace, and feel more steady, more understood, and more like yourself again.

Working together, we focus on what you need, helping you understand your emotions, find ways to cope that actually work for you, and begin to feel more in control of your life again.

You don’t have to carry this on your own. Reach out for a space where you can finally put some of the weight down, where you don’t have to hold it all together but be met with honesty, care, and real understanding

About Sara Torrome – Specialist Bereavement and Loss Counsellor in Beaconsfield

About Me

If you’re here, something in your life may feel off balance.

You might be carrying a loss that has changed you, navigating a relationship that no longer feels secure, or trying to keep going while anxiety, low mood, or uncertainty sit just beneath the surface. From the outside, you may appear to be coping, but inside it can feel very different.

This is where our work begins.

I’m Sara Torrome, an experienced counsellor based in Beaconsfield. I work with adults and couples who are dealing with loss in its many forms, whether that is bereavement, relationship breakdown, health changes, or other life transitions that can leave you feeling unsettled and unsure of your next step.

Working with me offers you a space to step out of simply getting through each day and begin to understand what you’re feeling at a deeper level. Together, we make sense of your thoughts and emotions, so they feel less overwhelming and more manageable. Over time, this helps you feel steadier, more in control, and more like yourself again.

My approach is thoughtful, grounded, and collaborative. I won’t rush you or overwhelm you, but I will gently support you to look at what matters, so you can begin to move forward in a way that feels right for you.

I am an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working to a high professional and ethical standard.

I have also completed additional training in relationships and infant loss, allowing me to support adults and couples through these particularly complex and often isolating experiences.

When Loss Starts to Affect Everything

You may have expected the loss to be painful.

What you might not have expected is how much it would affect everything else.

Your focus, your energy, your relationships, even your sense of who you are.

Whether you’re grieving a bereavement, facing a relationship breakdown, struggling with fertility, or dealing with changes in your health or work, it can start to feel all-consuming.

You might recognise this in yourself:

·     Feeling lost, unsure of your direction, or disconnected from who you used to be

·     Constantly overwhelmed, anxious, or unable to switch off

·     Questioning whether you’ll ever feel like yourself again

·     Carrying a level of sadness or heaviness that’s hard to explain to others

At some point, holding it all on your own becomes exhausting.

This is where counselling can make a real difference.

Working together gives you the chance to step back, understand what you’re carrying, and begin to move through it at a pace that feels right for you

You don’t have to keep pushing through this alone.

If you’re ready to take that first step, you can call or WhatsApp me on 07800 968681 or  click here, to email me.arrange an appointment.

How I Support You on Your Journey

You won’t come here to be told what to do, and I won’t offer you neat answers that don’t fit your life. What I will do is pay close attention to what you say, what you don’t, and what feels hard to put into words.

We’ll take the time to understand what’s really going on beneath the surface. Not just the obvious problems, but the patterns, pressures, and experiences that have shaped how things feel right now. From there, we can begin to find ways of responding that feel more steady, more honest, and more like you.

This is a space where you don’t have to filter yourself or get it “right.” You can bring the parts of your life that feel confusing, uncomfortable, or unresolved, and we’ll work with them together.

We can meet in a way that fits your life whether that’s face to face in Beaconsfield or online, and for as long as it’s useful to you. Some people come for a few sessions to work through something specific; others stay longer to explore more deeply. We’ll decide that as we go, based on what you need and not on a fixed plan.

What You Can Expect from Our Sessions

Grief can feel relentless. It’s like everything has shifted and nothing quite makes sense anymore. Our work together is about helping that weight become more bearable, so you’re not carrying it alone or in the same way.

Over time, many people begin to notice a change. The intensity softens. The waves of emotion feel less overwhelming. There’s more space to breathe, think, and begin to find your footing again.

Through this process, you may find that you:

   •   feel less consumed by the pain of your loss, with moments of steadiness returning

   •   can think about the person you’ve lost without it feeling quite so raw or destabilising

   •   understand and make sense of your grief, rather than feeling lost inside it

   •   find ways to carry your loss that allow you to keep living, not just getting through the day

   •   begin to reconnect with parts of yourself that have felt distant or out of reach

This isn’t about “moving on” or leaving your loss behind. It’s about finding a way to live alongside it and where the pain no longer defines every moment. Life can start to feel possible again, in your own time and in your own way.
